Our story

Built by educators, for classrooms that cannot afford to wait

Scholargleam started in 2025 with a single observation: most diagnostic tools in schools report on the current unit but say nothing about the prerequisite gaps underneath it. We decided to fix that.

Why we started

The insight behind the product

When Elena Petrova started Scholargleam in 2025, she kept hearing the same story from teachers: a student would fail a 7th-grade algebra test, and only then would the teacher trace backwards to a fraction concept the student never solidified in 5th grade. The gap was always there. The test just made it visible too late.

We set out to build a tool that surfaces the prerequisite gap before it becomes a unit failure. Short adaptive diagnostics, a standards-aligned dependency graph, and a teacher-facing summary that requires no data analysis to act on.

Scholargleam is bootstrapped, based in Boston, and currently in early-access pilots with schools and test-prep programs across the northeast.

What guides us

The principles behind the work

Root cause over surface score

A percentage score tells you something went wrong. A prerequisite map tells you where the problem actually started. We chase the root, not the symptom.

Before the test, not after

Interventions have the most impact before a unit concludes. We build every feature to surface gaps early enough to act on them.

Designed for teacher time

A teacher who needs to wrangle a spreadsheet before acting on data will not act on data. Everything we build has to be actionable in two minutes or less.
